Oh yeah one more thing, does anyone know if you can move your trial char into a new real account? hate to lose the work put into it but I guess it wouldn't matter since it was only a few hours.

If you like pvp dominated by bots then enjoy the purchase.

You can add game access keys to your existing trial account after logging in.

Orbdweller, if you are interested in the franchise and in the sequel GW2 and you like the trial so far, then go for it. If you want to fill the Hall of Monuments for benefits in GW2, probably mostly cosmetic stuff, then you should go for the Kind Of A Big Deal title right from the start. There are some nice guides to help you achieve the title without doing too much grind and seeing some missions and areas only twice.

About bots: most of them are used in high level pvp and if you are a pver and casual pvper you won't see much of them until GW2 comes out.

Regardless, I would recommend searching for a guild as soon as possible. Try to browse these forums too, because sometimes it may take a lot of time to find one and GW without a guild is boring.

I just recently started to play Guild Wars, and I am having a blast! I picked up a Complete Collection from my local Wal-Mart for $40.00 (in Indiana). It has all 3 of the campaigns as well as Eye of the North. I have gotten almost as much entertainment out of that $40 as I would from a "normal" RPG, and I have not even scratched the surface.

Are there asshats in the game? - Yes, there are times when you will expierence some elitism (aka almost every inch of PvP)

But the game IS worth the investment. You can find other people in some areas and you can join good guilds, the game is also soloable (in terms of no human players) by using henchmen and heroes.

Most of your questions have been answered but I thought I'd throw in a few of my own opinions.

If possible get the complete thing, like rath said you can pick up all 3 games and the expansion for less than the price of a new release.

On the subject of GW:EN - What it really offers is a good mid to endgame. Once you get tinto the grove of GW it's easy to steamroll some things (Not saying that the game is by any means easy). GW:EN cranks the difficulty up a good chunk on the previous advantures. It's doesn't make it harder just.. more challenging... That doesn't really make sense does it?

On the subject of the community - Yeah you'll meet idiots and elitists. Mainly the former in PvE and the latter in PvP.

The key is to put yourself into the community, joining guru is a great start - joining a good guild is even better. Because GW is such a teambased game people rarely play outside their guilds/friends. Not saying that these people will shun you - not in the least, but you will have to make and effort to join them. they won't likely be looking for new people.

The community is smaller than it once was sure, but it's much tighter and far from dying. Hell just look how active this site is!

Yeah I found that when I was running a quest and hit F10 there were links to the quests I had. I thought that was awesome. Not like other games that you have to hunt for the knowledge data bases.

Yes.

The investment is minimal.A once off payment with no subscription to dump when you walk away.No-brainer really.

Seems to be a fair few newer players around atm so I'd get a copy asap while you can find groups or a guild of newer players on the same skill level as you who want to attain the same goals, especially considering normal mode play.

In 6 months I'd imagine it will be straight back to "LFP HM VQ" spam and title grind again.

EotN offers many things that aren't available in Prophecies:
- dungeons - mostly different in that they have a reward chest at the end as opposed to just boss drops.
- Heroes - customizable henchmen (also available in Nightfall)

Btw, if you haven't bought GW yet, Your most cost effective way to go would be the Trilogy + Eotn

No its all a waste of money and time.
I got banned for botting while i didnt do anything.
But the GM's of Ncsoft simply do nothing.
For me they just a bunch of thieves took my money and time and banned me.
This only prove the cannot detect bots and just banning a bit here and there

Yeah Quaker that's kinda what I figured after doing a little research. Although the complete collection would be best but I guess it was a Euro release. I did find it on ebay but I don't like buying software over the internet unless it is from the manufacture. So it looks like i am going this week to a local store and pick it up.

And another ansver for your question : YES its totally worth investment , if you find not much players in your district you can always swap to another , i'm EU player but i play most on American districts as they always got good population and people looking for groups

late, as usual, but let me tell you that I have been playing games since Pong. GW easily makes the best investment in a game ever. I would have payed hundreds for this game. Most fun in a game since Quake MP for me.

Even if you just played as if it was just singleplayer RPG it would be worth the money, the amount of content you get is very good for the money.
